Let Me Introduce Myself
Hi, I’m Jane. Daughter of God, wife to my husband Dave for 47 years, (that’s us in the photo below) mother to four grown children and grandmother to one delightful granddaughter.
I had a sense, even from when I was little, that I was meant for something more. Even though I grew up in a household where Christ wasn’t served, I always remember having this longing to know, and work for a God I really wasn’t even sure was real. I wonder if any of you can identify.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I was 29 when I eventually fell down on my knees one day and told God, that if He was real, He needed to take over. I couldn’t, and didn’t want to carry on without Him anymore! I can honestly say that that was the best decision I ever made! And what a journey it has been.
God took this shy young woman, who was too afraid to open her mouth, and used her to share His word, and hopefully His love, to a hurting world.
Over the years He has used me to lead various ministries in the local church from Sunday School, to the prayer and outreach ministries. I later got involved in child evangelism where I eventually ended up leading the ministry in the Free State Province of South Africa with an international children’s ministry. I got to speak in congregations, teach at schools and churches, as well as at the Children’s Ministry Institute in South Africa, where I got to help train other missionaries from all over Africa and beyond.
Of course, along with that came the responsibility of building the various different aspects of the ministry and raising funds, which I’m sure those of you who experience the same, is not the most enjoyable part of ministry. Unless that’s your thing of course! I later also trained, and became a Certified Christian Life Coach.
Along the way, the Lord has also been encouraging me to use my love of writing to encourage others. And that brings me to why I am starting The Unveiled Leader.
Jesus recently showed me in a dream that His children, especially leaders, are drowning under the weight of responsibility they place on themselves to perform and prove themselves worthy. They are so caught up in the “doing” of ministry, that they are forgetting the “being”.
He told me “they need to be reminded of who I created them to be, long before I ever entrusted them with ministry”. And that is what He is entrusting to me now. When I asked Him who it was that He wanted me to reach, I was quite honestly surprised when He showed me it was to be leaders - more specifically women leaders.
He showed me it was because I can identify with what they go through. He also reminded me that age is never a factor. One of my own concerns as I have gotten older, is that “who would want to listen to a little old lady”? (I wish there was a smiley face). Don’t let the snow white hair fool you!
Anyway, I truly believe that as leaders in the Kingdom, not matter in what area, when we learn to set our focus on Him, and not on the title we carry, He is fully willing and able to do way more through us, that we can ever imagine.
I do look forward to “meeting” my fellow leaders. I would love if you could share something about what you do and any specific struggles you face within ministry.

God bless till next time!
